Athlete Focused...

Benton County serves approximately 150 athletes in 3 sport seasons throughout the year:

Fall: Aquatics, Bowling, Soccer, and Volleyball.

Winter: Basketball, Powerlifting, and Snow Shoeing.

Spring/Summer: Track and Field, Bocce. Golf, and Softball.

Volunteer Driven...

Special Olympics is only possible because of the many volunteers and donations within Benton County helping to provide training, competition, and opportunities at no cost to the athletes.

Many individuals volunteer and serve in a wide variety of ways:

  • Coaching
  • One day events and competitions
  • Newsletters, brochures, and mailings
  • Fund -raising
  • Photography
  • Presentations to the community
  • Web Design

Looking for your Help...

You can provide athletes with an experience to remember through sponsership. The Special Olympics Oregon-Benton County program is run entirely by volunteers. 100% of your support goes directly to the athletes of Benton County.

Your SUPPORT helps pay for:

  • Training programs for athletes
  • Training facilities
  • Uniforms
  • Sports Equipment
  • Transportation
  • Food and Lodging at competitions

Do you have as little as ONE HOUR A WEEK

to make a difference?

If you like sports and like to connect with athletes and families, You can:

  • Coach
  • Assistant Coach
  • Chaperone

If you have a lot of initiative, youre creative, you like to work with people, You can:

  • Recruit and train volunteers
  • Make presentations
  • Produce a newsletter
  • Produce our website
  • Write press releases
  • Help raise funds

If you want to help once and learn about Special Olympics, You can:

  • Help at a competition
  • Help at a special event

If you want to work on your own schedule, like to work from home, you are detail oriented, You can:

  • Track info in our database
  • Handle mail and phone calls
  • Help with one time projects
  • Write thank you letters
