Cody Manzi defeated top seeded Jake Swindlehurst of Burns 10-9 to take the first State Championship for Santiam Christian in 18 years. Cody completed an all out offensive comeback from a 7-3 deficit to earn the 189 title. Overall Cody finished the season with a 24-2 record.

Both senior Hayden Tedrow and Junior Michael Fanno placed 4th at 119 and 130 respectively. Hayden wrapped up the season with a 29-5 record and Michael finished 25-7.

Junior Jacob Howard and freshman Riley Hills both placed 5th at 135 and 140 respectively. Jacob wrapped up his season with a 24-10 record and Riley who came to the wrestling program late when he moved from Iowa, finished with a 13-6 season.

The Eagles finished 9th in the State Tournament overall and scored a record setting 76 points. Santiam Christian placed more wrestlers than at any other time in the schools history.

This was truly a blessed season and would not have been possible without the support and guidance from our Lord, our young and hard working wrestlers, our dedicated coaching staff; Joe and Tad, our team managers; Bethany and Elle, our meet coordinator and statistican Dave Morris, and the parents and fans who supported all our wrestlers through the ups and downs of the season. It is a season that will live in the memories of those who participated for many years to come.
